Have you ever heard of glamping? I haven’t until a few weeks ago when I was looking for a family friendly location on the beach, where I could reach by car from Zurich. I was pretty impressed when my husband showed me a camping village in the north of Italy (about 1,5 hours from Venice), with its wood cabins, bungalows, private beach, pools and a restaurant. This was definitely the ideal location for us as it offers the amenities of a good hotel but in a natural environment surrounded by families. We went for it!
What does glamping mean exactly?
While for many people camping means sleeping on the ground with the lack of plumbing and comfort, glamping means glamorous camping: with a real bed, air conditioner, private bathroom and a kitchen! I had no idea that this type of camping existed.
We booked a small wood cabin which included a car parking right outside, all hotel amenities such as towels, bed sheets and a baby cot, a child’s highchair, two chairs and a umbrella at the beach and beach towels. The kitchen was complete with fridge, microwave, coffee machine (italian and american styles) and dishwasher! In addition, we also had a small bathroom including a shower cabin and a very nice balcony which was used for all our meals.
This is how our camping village looked like:
They also offer premium accommodations, I would like to try a bungalow next time 😉
There was also space for the real camping 🙂
This is the ideal summer holidays spot for families with children and I definitely recommend it.
Have you ever glamped or are you also planning to go glamping at any time soon?
